Ruth Anne Thayer, 86, departed from this world on March 1, 2010.
Mrs. Thayer was born in Brandon, VT on December 28, 1923, the daughter of Walter and Ruby (Carter) Miner.
She and her husband Floyd, lived most of their adult life in Red Hook, NY and later retired to Vero Beach, FL. Since 2006, Mrs. Thayer resided at North Point Assisted Living Center and in September 2009 she moved to Heartland Nursing Home in Greensboro, NC.
Mrs. Thayer was an avid golfer and played regularly, even while she was a resident at North Point. Ruth also loved music and enjoyed dancing. She was an LPN, having received her degree at the age of 62.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her eldest son, Tim.
She is survived by her children; Jeanette Rojeski of Greensboro, NC, Terry Thayer of Jasper, GA, and Judy Sappington of Rifle, CO, her brothers; Peter Miner of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Gerry Lizewski of New York, her grandchildren; Nick and Hallie Rojeski, Ryan and Cody Thayer, Guy and Luke Sappington, and Jenine and Emily Thayer, and her great grandchildren; Michael and Vanessa Thayer.
A service of remembrance and a celebration of her life are scheduled in July of 2010 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Rutland, VT. Please contact a family member for exact dates and schedule of event in July.
